Personal Info

"One of this generation's most popular fantasy artists, Brom has lent his distinctive and often disturbing visions to a multitude of projects. From Dungeons & Dragons to Doom II, novels to comics to his ground-breaking work in the collectible card game market, Brom's powerful and dark visions have vividly brought to life entire worlds and have placed us face-to-face with the beautiful, the deadly, and the bizarre."

A very helpful guy gave me some more personal info on Brom. I have pretty much plagiarized his letter for your enjoyment (thanx again Bobby). His favorite band by far is The Cramps, especially their late 70's stuff ("Songs the Lord Taught Us"). He likes rockabilly in general, other specific artists he likes are Nick Cave, X, Panther Burns, some Tom Waites and his sister-in-law, "Marti Brom and Her Jet-tone Boys". Not so much anymore, but he used to basically dress and carry himself like The Cramps (in black) which was pretty scary for someone so tall, and he still has a fairly dark and morbid aesthetic. He has always been a Monty Python fan. Before he got married, back in the early eighties, he won numerous tournaments as a Tae Kwon Do black belt. He was born in Georgia, but his hometown is really Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

He was diagnosed at one time as having a form of photographic memory. This doesn't mean he memorizes stuff (he still can't spell), rather it means that he can form complete, original images in his mind which he then draws from (as opposed to models or photographs).

Also, he ditched his first name as a kid, its not an artistic affectation.

Brom currently lives in Seattle and his new web site is: http://www.bromart.com

Here's a creepy little picture of Brom

Take a look at Tony DiTerlizzi's web site, another amazing artist that has done some work for TSR, and in general a pretty cool guy.
